Sensor Tower fully acquired AppMagic to provide an exclusive solution for SMEs

The top global data analysis platform, Sensor Tower, announced today the completion of the full-cost acquisition of AppMagic, a mobile application market intelligence service, with the amount of the purchase outstanding. Upon completion of the acquisition, AppMagic will operate independently as the new “Sensor Tower” SME solution.

Founded in 2016, AppMagic works to provide competitive intelligence to SMEs and is well known for its market research capabilities and insight into mobile play ecosystems. In an official statement, Sensor Tower stressed that the acquisition of AppMagic would further consolidate its commitment to provide first-rate insight services to the entire applied ecology, including small mobile play studios and independent developers.

In 2025 alone, Sensor Tower ‘ s Mobile Applications Status Report predicts that millions of applications contributed 149 billion downloads. This sustained growth provides Sensor Tower with an excellent opportunity to better serve and support the subdivisions of mobile application markets.

According to a trade analysis by PocketGamer, AppMagic has extended the data tentacle to the Steam platform over the past year, while Sensor Tower has also acquired the host/PC data service VG Insights and Playliner in recent years. This merger will significantly enhance the precision of the cross-matching of new tracks, such as PC/host game intelligence, game real-time operations, etc.
