Meta ‘ s new marketing tool: creators can earn commissions through Facebook and Instagram ‘ s recommended commodities

Meta is introducing new marketing tools to make it easier for users to discover and purchase goods on Facebook and Instagram.

Meta announced the expansion of the Facebook Alliance, with new partners such as Amazon, eBay and Temu in the United States; a lot of beauty in Latin America; and Hopee in Asia. The scheme allows creators to mark products from retailers in their Facebook posts. Meta indicated that similar alliances were being tested for Instagram. The creators will be able to highlight the products directly in the posts and Reels and make money through these new coalition partners. In essence, Meta is providing more ways for creators to recommend products on Facebook and Instagram. On Instagram, the creator will have a new label function that can be used to directly mark the goods in the brand catalogue in Reels or to point to the goods through a union connection, turning any Instagram video into a digital store window.

The new product tag function is one way in which Meta transforms the content of the creator into a brand and retailer ‘ s distribution channel and provides new opportunities for the creator to realize the content. In addition, Meta is opening its existing Shops advertising slot to overseas markets. Meta will allow brands from Canada, Mexico, Japan, Korea, the United Kingdom and Australia to be advertised in the Shops. Meta also introduced a new “Buy Now” button in its ads. Meta indicated that, after clicking on the advertisement, users might see an “immediate purchase” button that could be purchased directly from the brand. The advertiser may choose the partner to settle the bill and perform the order directly. Katia Constantine, Chief Executive Officer of Digishopgirl Media, stated that Meta was drawing on the experience of TikTok Shop, which had proven that customers would shop in social media. She added that Meta was building tools to make transactions and discoveries easier for users. “Meta is learning from these experiences and is really making it easier for the whole process, whether through the discovery of commodities through the Alliance plan or through the transformation through the transmission of information and easy trade.” Konstantin said, “I don’t think they’re gonna be retailers, but I do think they’re trying to capture more advertising and union income.”

TikTok launched its Creative Union programme in 2023, where creators can publish their favorite products and obtain a share of each sale. According to the Wall Street Journal, a candy brand earned $1.4 million a quarter after using TikTok ‘ s Alliance plan.
