OpenAI joined forces to build five new data centres in the U.S.

In a cooperation agreement with OpenAI earlier, Yin Weida would invest hundreds of billions of dollars in OpenAI to deploy its 10-giva computing system. Today, OpenAI once again announced an agreement with two other technology giants to build five new data centres in the United States. OpenAI stated that computing facilities would be built in partnership with the Japanese Soft Silver Group and Cloud Calculator in Lozton, Ohio; Milan and Shakelford, Texas; Donana, New Mexico; and undisclosed locations in Midwest.

The new data centre is part of the Interstellar Gate Project announced by three companies together with Trump in the White House last January. Under the plan, businesses would invest $500 billion in new facilities to develop artificial intelligence technologies and provide services to consumers and businesses. Through the bulletin, OpenAI indicated that agreement had been reached on a data centre infrastructure of over $400 billion and that further negotiations were needed to achieve the overall goal of $500 billion. Oracle will finance and oversee the construction of three of these data centres, and OpenAI will then purchase capacity from Oracle. The Co-Executive Director of Oracle, Clay Magouyrk, revealed that construction funds would be partially addressed by exploring new forms of financial cooperation with various partners, technology suppliers and investors.

According to anonymous sources, the soft silver scheme finances two of its facilities in Ohio and Milan County, Texas, through bank financing and borrowing, and OpenAI will oversee the construction. The announcement is a microcosm of the global AIC data centre construction wave of tech companies. OpenAI, Amazon, Google, Meta and Microsoft plan to invest more than $32.5 billion in the construction of related facilities by the end of the year. OpenAI’s efforts received important boosts on Monday, with the announcement by Ingweida that $100 billion would be invested in the coming years. The deal shows once again that OpenAI is financing from its technological giants, which depend on product services. Microsoft had invested over $13 billion in OpenAI between 2019 and 2023, and it had earned billions of dollars in return as the latter continued to buy credit for the development of generating AI and other technologies. Young Weida has completed an initial investment of $10 billion on the basis of OpenAI ‘ s current valuation of $500 billion, receiving approximately 2 per cent of the company ‘ s shares. As OpenAI continues to build data centres with partners, the British Wida project will follow up on nine rounds of investment of equal size.

A number of experts expressed concern that businesses such as OpenAI might have significant debts if AI technology was not applied as fast as expected. Although OpenAI ‘ s annual revenues amount to billions of dollars, it spends much more on such things as credit purchases. As part of the Stargate Project, the data centre that Openai and Oracle are building in Abilin, Texas, was shown to the media on Tuesday. The enterprise plans to build eight data centres with a total electricity consumption of approximately 1.4 kiva, equivalent to hundreds of thousands of households, two of which are now operational. In accordance with the agreement between the Trump Government and the Persian Gulf countries, OpenAI also plans to build computing facilities in the UAE. The data centre will be a cooperative project with Oracle, Smolden and Emirates Artificial Intelligence G42.
